Class of 2021

Product Marketing/Commercialization at Fiserv

New York City (Virtual)

What did you do prior to Stern?

Management Consulting

What was the best part of your internship?

The level of autonomy, ability to shape my role, exposure to innovative FinTech, company culture

What was the company's culture like?

Informal, flat, invested in development, high degree of autonomy.

What kind of events did you get to do with your fellow interns and/or team?

"Happy hours", free swag bags (limited due to virtual environment / reduced internship timeline)

What was most challenging part of your internship and what would you do it again if you could?

Virtual nature of internship; the team found a way to compensate.

What was most helpful to you during the recruiting process?

Company is very invested in on-campus recruiting, are interested in self-starters who ask questions related to the industry. Fiserv does so many different things, try to figure out what the interviewer works in before going in to the interview rather than wasting time looking into everything the company does (you won't be able to wrap your head around it all!)

What advice do you have for current and prospective students for their internships?

Interview for places outside of your initial criteria or that don't have as much brand recognition - they are often the hidden opportunities!
